Tips and tricks to help you repair a garage door in no-time
As most of us know, nowadays hiring a professional to fix your garage door can be very expensive. This is why more and more people start to repair their garage door on their own. There are 4 essential steps that you should follow, if you want to successfully complete this job.
- You should check the metal tracks that hold the garage door. Usually loosened screws or small dents can cause your garage door to misbehave. If this is the case with your garage doors, tighten the bolts or screws at the brackets, and pound the dents out using a rubber mallet.
- Check to see whether or not the tracks are properly aligned. If they’re not aligned the right way, unscrew the bolts that hold these to the wall and then tap the tracks carefully into position. Be careful though because you should not completely remove the mounting brackets.
- Watch out for dirt trapped in the tracks, or the rollers. If you find any dirt in those places you should clean them with a household cleaning solution to remove hardened grease and dirt, but do not forget to wipe the rollers and tracks dry afterwards.
- At last, you should check to see whether or not there are loosen hardware, such as the plates where the spring is mounted on swing-up doors. Use a screwdriver to tighten them back into place.
If your problem is not one of those listed above, you should contact a garage door repair specialist because it may need more experience in order to fix it. Their services are available in all areas from Edmond, El Reno, Mustang, OKC, Oklahoma City, Piedmont, and even in Yukon.
